Takko

Takko Fashion is a fashion company based in Telgte (Westphalia), which was founded in 1982 by the Hettlage Group as Modea. The range includes fashion, underwear and accessories for women, men, children and babies.

With around 1,100 stationary branches in Germany as well as an online shop and a mobile shopping app, Takko Fashion is one of the 17 largest clothing retailers in Germany. The fashion retailer has almost 2,000 branches in 17 countries across Europe and employs around 18,000 people.

The chain of stores was founded in 1982 under the name Modea by the Hettlage Group. In 1990, the Tengelmann Group became the majority shareholder. In 1999 the company was renamed Takko ModeMarkt GmbH & Co. KG and sold to the financial investor Permira. The company operates today with eight national and international subsidiaries under the name Takko Holding GmbH. From 2007 to 2010, global private equity firm Advent International was the controlling shareholder. Takko Fashion was relaunched at the end of 2009 with a new logo and new looks in the stores. In December 2010 the company was sold to British investor Apax.

In April 2016, Takko Fashion launched its own online shop as an additional sales channel and omnichannel.
